Cagliari History

Cagliari Calcio is an Italian football club that was established in 1920 on the island of Sardinia. They started out playing in regional competitions before joining the Italian league in the 1929-30 season as a member of Prima Divisione D. The best period of Cagliari history was in the 1960s and 70s when they won a Serie A title and the Coppa Italia. Ever since then, they have bounced from Serie A to Serie B as they look to establish themselves as a top Italian side.

Who Owns Cagliari

Cagliari is owned by Fluorsid, an Italian chemical and mining company.

Cagliari Manager

Cagliaris current manager is Cllaudio Ranieri. Ranieri has managed multiple top clubs across Europe, such as Fiorentina, Napoli, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Roma, Inter Milan and Monaco. Despite winning some domestic trophies, Claudio Ranieri was heavily criticised for not winning any major league honours, that is, until he took over at Leicester in 2015 and won the league with the newly promoted side in his first season. Often described as a fairytale, he then continued managing around Europe until he signed for Cagliari in 2023, helping them earn promotion back to the Serie A.
