Who Owns Darmstadt

Darmstadt along with many other German clubs is owned by the fans through paid memberships that allows them to vote on decisions within the club. They have spent the vast majority of their history playing in the 2nd and 3rd divisions of German football. They have played briefly in the Bundesliga but have never been able to stay up for more than 2 seasons. They have played in the top division 5 times from 1978-79, 1981-82, 2015-17 and most recently they have just been promoted and will play during the 2023-24 season.

Darmstadt Manager

Darmstadts current manager is Torsten Lieberknecht. Torsten Lieberknecht is a German football coach who has managed many lower league German clubs. He first managed Eintracht Braunschweig. During his time there he kept them in the 3rd tier in time for the introduction of the 3.Liga and then in the next 10 years took them to Bundesliga for the first time in 28 years and then back down to the 3.Liga. He then managed another club before moving to Darmstadt in 2021 helping them achieve promotion in the coming seasons.

Darmstadt Drama

In 2018, SV Darmstadt 98 defeated Erzgebirge Aue 1-0 thanks to a late goal from striker Tobias Kempe. The win saw Dirk Schuster’s side end the season on an 11 match unbeaten run including three wins in a row to climb out of the relegation zone. It was a fitting end for Darmstadt and the 2. Bundesliga with so many clubs riding on results across the country.

Who Plays For Darmstadt Now

Darmstadt have truthfully a very poor squad. There defence consists of players such as Marcel Schuhen, Morten Behrens, Christoph Klarer, Christoph Zimmermann, Matej Maglica, Jannik Muller, Clemens Riedel, Thomas Isherwood, Emir karic, Fabian Holland, Mattias Bader and Frank Ronstadt. Their midfield has players such as Bartol Franjic, Andreas Muller, Klaus Gjasula, Nemanja Celic, Fabian Nurnberger, Fabian Schnellhardt, Tobias Kempe and Marvin Mehlem. In attack they have Mathias Honsak, Filip Stokilkovic, Luca Pfeiffer, Braydon Manu, Oscar Vilhelmsson, Fraser Hornsby, Aaron Seydel and Fabio Torsiello.

What Have Darmstadt Won

Throughout Dramstadts history they have won 2 German 2. Bundesliga titles, 1 German Regionalliga Southwest title and 6 Landespokal Hessen trophies.

Darmstadt 2023/24 Season Predictions

Darmstadt have a squad that lacks quality and an inexperienced manager when it comes to keeping teams in the Bundesliga. As a result we believe they will be relegated or be in contention to be relegated. The one time Darmstadts manager has made it to Bundesliga his side was relegated immediately and we wouldn’t be surprised if this happened again. The squad is inexperienced in the Bundesliga and their attack is also quite young, so we don’t know how they will face up against the pressure of the Bundesliga.
